This is such a unique and artsy jacket! It was purchased new at a traveling trunk show in Oregon sometime between the late 1980s and the early 1990s. The seller also sold southeast Asian batik clothing, and other unique clothing.
The jacket was designed with the typical button placement for a man, but I would consider it unisex. The cut is straight and over sized, with notched lapels and an interesting shirttail hem with middle vent in back. There are large inset hand warmer pockets. Shoulders are padded. The bold abstract swirls of painted-on colors are quite striking.

SIZE: No size label. Given the design, I consider it One Size Fits Many. Some photos show the jacket pinned on the mannequin.

FABRIC/COLORS: The fabric is woven cotton, given extra heft and structure by the overall painting, which i believe was hand done albeit on a large scale before turning it into garments. The main color is light gray. Red, blue, green, and purple are also used.

TAGS: The only tag is in a side seam - CA 15077, and I have no idea what it means.

CLOSURES: Five dark gray pearly plastic buttons

CONDITION: No holes or tears. The jacket does have a few tiny orangish stains on the front near the bottom - see closeup of the single one on the left front bottom. The former owner tried spot removal on one or two and stopped when they saw the effort was also fading the painted gray background around the spot - see other closeup of the right front. There are also a few similar small marks near the cuff of the left sleeve. Given the nature of the fabric patterning, it is pretty subtle.
